Establishing Thanksgiving as a Trademark
23-05-10Thanksgiving as a Trademark
Thanksgiving is a federal holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada. It's a time for giving thanks and enjoying traditional fare with family and friends, including roast turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.
In the U.S., Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday of November, while in Canada, it's celebrated on the second Monday of October.
Interestingly, Thanksgiving has gained traction beyond North America, particularly in China. The Chinese have shown interest in trademarking "THANKSGIVING" and "THANKS GIVING" as holiday names. The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has granted trademarks for these terms, with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) also involved.
These trademarks cover various product classes such as Class 13 (Coffee-Based Beverages), Class 31 (Fresh Fruit), and Class 29 (Oils and Fats).
